He has a wide-range professional experience concerning general corporate law, with expertise in foreign trade and commercial arbitration.

He is the chair professor of Integration Law at Universidad Católica de Guayaquil School of Law and teaches Alternate Methods for Disputes Resolution at Guayaquil’s Universidad Espíritu Santo School of Law.

Between 1987 and 1988 he was Deputy Secretary of the Department of Industry and Foreign Trade maintaining a close relationship with the Chamber of Commerce in Guayaquil where he served as Vice-president. He was President of the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce Arbitration and Conciliation Center for 12 consecutive years since its creation and, since 1985 serves as Executive Secretariat of the Ecuadorean Peruvian Chamber of Commerce.

He represented the National Chamber of Production before the Ecuadorian Directorate Trade Association Customs House and he is the Guayaquil Stock Market Director. In the international realm, he had occupied the Ibero-American Association of Commerce Chambers General Secretary and currently is Honorary President of the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission after serving as President for two periods. He is arbitrator of the American Arbitration Asociation (AAA), the Panama Commerce Chamber and the Nicaragua Commerce Chamber.
